Leagues are a great way for poker players to be part of a community, because you can play games, have a leaderboard, and a lot to discuss with the other participants.
The Brazilian poker portal Poker Dicas launched a league, called Liga Poker Dicas, in which players from their forum can participate in many tournaments for points, and be classified according to the leaderboard.
The first season have just been launched, with a test tournament held on Pacific Poker. This one had 17 participants. Others will follow, some with buy-ins and others for free.
The tournaments will be discussed in detail on the poker forums, with the objective of improving the quality of everyone’s games.
The ten best players in the season will play a final tournament to determine their prizes. The winner of the league will win a poker chip case, and a poker book will go for the runner-up. Other prizes will be distributed to the other participants. Anyway, everyone who participate will learn a lot.
